The award-winning Lasan Group has opened a new restaurant - Jailbird New York Seafood and Steak - on the former site of Nosh & Quaff, now closed.

The new venture is a 'classy, sophisticated lounge and restaurant' situated in Victoria Square opposite the Council House in the heart of the city.

Lasan Group’s Jabbar Khan said:

“Expect a cosmopolitan vibe where you can escape from the humdrum and get the New York state of mind.”

What it's going to be like inside

What's on the menu?

Sip your favourite drink over a bowl of Kalamata olives, then move on perhaps to black risotto with prawns or maybe a giant cous cous and flame-grilled asparagus salad.

Or share salty ‘n’ sweet caramel-glazed pork knuckle served with a freshly-baked sunflower & pumpkin seed loaf, apple salad and whipped seasoned butter. 

For mains you might select sea bass marinated in creole spices served with a kale salad and a blackened lemon wedge, or a classic surf & turf comprising grilled lobster with cheesy mustard mornay or a fresh herb garlic gremolata, accompanied by a juicy spider steak.

Or you can be adventurous and try a Delmonico steak. Native to the States, this large hunk of meat is famed for its special texture and deep flavour.

Mains also include a juicy steak sandwich, the meat pressed between two slices of fresh house-baked bread, with mustard, cheese, grilled onions and kale. 

Jailbird soft launched on Thursday at 130 Colmore Row.
