King's Heath's answer to Mediterranean fare served tapas style, Byzantium, have launched a brand new menu that satisfies their regular customers with their classics, and introdcues some exotic new flavours to those feeling a little more adventurous.
Byzantium are a tapas restaurant, but they don't just serve up the usual Spanish delights.
Instead, they take inspiriation from all over the Mediterranean to create a unique dining experience that's perfect for sharing. You'll find a fusion of flavours from the cuisines of Spain, Morocco, Greece, Italy and the Middle East in their dishes.
They give you the opportunity to experience not only a selection of food, but also a selection of cuisines.
All of the ingredients used in Byzantium's dishes are either sourced locally or imported to create the perfect combination of fresh and authentic, and their sharing paellas, which are only availble to pre-order, are cooked from scratch with fresh ingredients and bomba rice.
New Year, New flavours...
...And they've released a brand new menu for 2018.
Though their customer favourites and tasty classics remain on the menu, they've added a few more items to spice things up.
Start with your choice of flatbread (original, garlic or chilli), and select your favourite dips and spreads like spicy humous, zaalouk, and tzatziki.
If you fancy sharing a selection of tapas to taste a bit of everything, then their extensive selection of vegetable, meat and fish based options should tempt you.
There's Andalusian chicken skewers, slow cooked Moroccan lamb and chickpea tagine, pan fried whole tiger prawns served in a garlic, chilli and cognac sauce, and halloumi bites dusted in semolina and dressed with honey, to name but a few delicious dishes.
To complete the feast, try their Moroccan orange cake served with orange glaze and vanilla ice cream, or Galaktoboureko, a Greek creamy custard pie with filo pastry and syrup.
