Popeyes fans can now get their hands on their famous Chicken Sandwich

After much anticipation, Popeyes® has confirmed that its Birmingham delivery kitchen will officially open on Monday 19 February, followed by New Orleans-inspired celebrations and giveaways taking place in the city centre on Tuesday 20 February.

Marking the opening of its first West Midlands location, Popeyes® is set bring the spirit of Mardi Gras to Birmingham City Centre on Tuesday 20 February, with chances to win free Chicken Sandwiches for a year*, plus an opportunity to watch a live performance from The Brass Funkeys, a New Orleans inspired brass band.

Delivering both the flavours and sounds of New Orleans to the heart of the city centre, Popeyes® will be exclusively popping-up on the high street, Cathedral Square and in Centenary Square on Tuesday 20 February from 11.45am, giving chicken fans the opportunity to get their hands on the iconic Chicken Sandwich.

Popeyes will kick off its celebrations with a live performance from the Brass Funkeys on the high street (near Primark) at 11.45am. Then, during the 2-hour pop-up at Cathedral Square between 12-2pm, Chicken Sandwiches will be hand-delivered to hungry fans on a first-come, first-served basis via Popeyes®’ roaming orange trike that will cycle around the square throughout the event. The Brass Funkeys and Popeyes will then be heading to Centenary Square from 2pm for more live performances.

Chicken fans in Birmingham will get the chance to experience Popeyes® world-famous ‘shatter crunch’ for themselves when they order from the new delivery kitchen, with the menu featuring its 12-hour marinated chicken, including Hot Wings and Tenders, as well as original Southern biscuits and gravy and Cajun rice.

Delivery orders can be made via the Popeyes® website, Uber Eats or Just Eat from 10.30am on Monday 19 February.
