Michelin-Star Doner Kebab Coming To Town

Birmingham-born Brad Carter, who is widely considered to be one of the best chefs in the UK, is set to open a new doner kebab bar in Kings Heath.

The fine dining restaurant has been lauded for its ever-changing, multi-course tasting menu—which emphasizes the most exquisite produce, foraged flora, and wild fauna indigenous to Britain. The chef is now planning a new dining experience in the city of Birmingham, opening up a pop-up doner kebab restaurant inside one of its historic pubs.

The project originally started during the coronavirus lockdown, when Carters of Moseley was closed. During that time, Carter began experimenting with doner kebabs as a way to fill his time and keep his creative juices flowing. Kebabs are the perfect post-rave sustenance, and the concept was inspired by Berlin’s Gemüse Kebab. Cook drew on his years of involvement with the rave scene to create the kebabs act as ‘the perfect post-rave sustenance’, says Brad.

Now, after months of planning and hard work behind closed doors, The Michelin-star chef, who runs Carters of Moseley and has received national acclaim for his multi-course tasting menu, will open One Star Döner Bar at the Hare and Hounds pub in Kings Heath high street this February.
