The new-look The Four Oaks pub in Belwell Lane, Sutton Coldfield certainly is impressive with its’ million pound refit certainly gleaming from every angle.

Located near Sutton Park, it has a gleaming new exterior in a slate grey, a remodelled and striking interior, a beautiful outdoor terraced patio space with parasols, plants and decking, and a cosy garden bar at the rear, featuring fire pits and a fully-stocked outdoor bar. Perfect for those bright sunny days.
From the car park, you enter through a beautifully elevated side entrance, to be greeted with a new glazed lobby and a new extended walnut bar, blackened steel bar fonts and limestone flooring. Down the left is plenty of cosy seating for groups of two’s and four’s, velvet upholstery in earthy tones, and real oak finishes. It’s all been designed to give a comforting cosy feel
To the right of the bar opens up into a brighter space, with a striking glass wine cellar on the right fully stocked with a premium wine list. The large alcove has a big round table for 8 overlooking the car park as well as a private dining room for 14 for those who love big family dinners.
The team at Crafted Pubs have worked really hard to showcase an outstanding venue that provides the perfect setting for all social occasions all year round, with increased dining capacity for 180 guests inside and 100 outside
The manager at The Four Oaks, said: “the food and drink offering at The Four Oaks showcases the best of British farms and vineyards and the new menu focused on outstanding food, from exceptional Sunday roasts to small plates and stix, perfect for shared grazing. There is an extensive selection of drinks, including special craft ales and lagers, classic and crafted cocktails, plus an array of non-alcoholic drinks.”
The restaurants boasts an exceptional food offering that celebrates the very best of British produce, so after clinking our glasses of Albarino, we were keen to dive right in!
The Sunday Roast menu has four options that all come with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, rainbow roots and seasonal greens served family-style.
I went for the Shropshire Ross Cobb chicken, which were served with pigs in blankets, sage & onion stuffing, cauliflower cheese & bread sauce. It’s beautifully plated – not everything overwhelmingly stuffed on a dish. The quality of the produce really shines through – good quality chicken, tasty chipolata wrapped in crispy bacon, crunchy roast potatoes and a cute coin of medallion of stuffing and a big puffy Yorkshire pudding. The gravy jus was exceptional and brought the meat to life
The vegetables were plentiful and served in a side bowl with all the colours of autumn shining through – crunchy, fresh and tasty.
Hubby had the Orchard Farm pork belly which was perfectly cooked and with juicy flavour. The cauliflower cheese was slightly dry and could have done with a bit more cheese, but was redeemed with its Bramley apple sauce
The other two choices on the menu were the Rump of beef with horseradish cream, cauliflower cheese and Yorkshire pudding and for vegetarians you can enjoy the MacSween’s veggie haggis wellington with red wine sauce.
The staff were competent and friendly and made sure we enjoyed our afternoon. The restaurant was full and buzzing with a pleasant ambiance. We would recommend it highly and definitely return.
