Lasan wins Best Restaurant at Asian Business Awards 2013

Lasan Restaurant has been presented with the ‘Asian Business Restaurant of the Year 2013' at a prestigious dinner celebrating the very best Asian entrepreneurship in the Midlands.

The Asian Business Awards previously held in London for over 15 years, and this year was the first time the event left the capital. A series of regional events celebrated the success of the Asian business community around the country, with Birmingham's event taking place on Friday 26th April.

Jabbar Khan, director at Lasan (pictured above left ) said:

A host of key business leaders and politicians

Over 300 guests attended the dinner at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, along with a host of business leaders, celebrities, high net-worth individuals and politicians.

Rt Hon Danny Alexander MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury attended as the chief guest on the night. Overall, seven entrepreneurs received accolades, shortlisted by a panel of judges including Paul Uppal MP for Wolverhampton South West; Neil Rami, chief executive of Marketing Birmingham; Gisela Stuart MP for Birmingham Edgbaston; Anjli Paul daughter of Lord Swraj Paul, owner and Founder of Caparo Group.

Also on the panel were John Phillips, regional director for the Institute of Directors (IoD) West Midlands region; Shiraz Tejani founder of Leicester based tissue manufacturer LPC (UK) Limited; Kalpesh Solanki, group managing editor of the AMG and Shailesh R Solanki, executive editor for AMG.
