German cafe-restaurant
63 St Paul's Square, B3 1QS
With French pastries, Irish stew and even a 'recovery' English breakfast, this cafe seems a culinary model of European integration.
But the German influence is strongest. The menu centres on Teutonic treats like goulash, bratwurst, sauerkraut and kartoffelsalat (potato salad).

The style is tapas but the substance is British ingredients from artisan suppliers.

Iberian classics like jamon serrano, manchego cheese and mushroom croquettes.
The wine list is exclusively Spanish, featuring lesser known regions like Ribera del Duero.

A range of beers by Indian Brewery, including Birmingham Lager. There will also be guest beers on tap, bottle and can.
The venue will host regular street food takeovers from local vendors.
They aim to be "Innovative and local, a place for social gathering and good times championing Birmingham."

Turkish cuisine is enjoying a surge in popularity. Head here to try staples like lamb and chicken kabob, eggplant and dolma (stuffed vine leaves).
Traditionally brewed strong Turkish coffee is also on offer, along with sweet almond and honey baklava.
Pizza restaurant

Wood-fired pizzas prepared by the same people who run The Eight Foot Grocer.
Fresh salads will also be available, with ice cream from Warwickshire company Rossa for dessert.
They told us the menu 'showcases the best of British and Italian produce, specifically selected for their flavour profiles and in support of independent producers.'
