Things are looking up for luxury venue Hotel La Tour. Perched on the edge of Digbeth, the hotel has just celebrated the first anniversary of its opening, and now announces a new head chef at its Aalto Restaurant, Dan Pearce.
Bringing fine dining and afternoon teas to the slowly regenerating Eastside area by Moor Street Station, Aalto Restaurant was developed and runs in close collaboration with renowned chef, Marcus Wareing, who explained the mission as he sees it:
The single most important factor when people choose a restaurant is their expectation. They choose somewhere to dine based on their expectations. It's then up to us to meet and exceed these in all areas - food, beverage, service and hospitality."
Dan Pearce was previously Sous Chef, and has been at Aalto since it opened last year. He welcomed chef Marcus Wareing and his brother, Brian, to the kitchen where they delivered a special training session.
Dine Birmingham recommends…
Sunday Lunch at Aalto. We recently dined at Aalto on a Sunday, to try out the new menu introduced at the beginning of this year. It reflects the restaurant's philosophy of presenting elegant classics, with options like Harrogate Loaf, Salmon Rillette, Roast Loin of Pork and Battered Halibut on the menu.
