The Pantry Catering and Cookery School is a new gourmet food company, specialising in high class food and cakes, all made 100% gluten- and wheat-free.

The company offers a catering service for occasions including birthday parties and corporate lunches, and private dinner parties. It will also run cookery lessons.

The Pantry is the vision of Matthew Gilbert, aged 27, who has been working in the catering industry for over 10 years. He has worked at several well-known restaurants across the Midlands, and opened his own fine dining restaurant at the age of 23.

Matthew was diagnosed with IBS at the age of 21, and was advised by doctors to stop eating wheat and gluten. It was from this moment that, with his partner Kerry Smith, he began building his own range gluten- and wheat-free alternatives, supplying friends and family and developing their favourite recipes.

The Birmingham couple explained their mission in their own words:

"The food is of the highest quality, locally sourced, and reasonably priced, designed to meet the requirements of our customer. We work with you to design menus specific to your needs, at a price that suits you."

"We also run a cookery school, so you can learn how to cook your favourite dishes at home. We will be providing courses specifically aimed at those with living with dietary requirements, and for those who just need some pointers on where to start in the kitchen. Our aim is to ensure that even if you have to live without wheat or gluten, you shouldn't have to compromise on the quality and variety of the food you can eat."
