Chinatown's restaurant group Chung Ying is opening a new site in the city's Colmore Business District, specialising  in dim sum; pan-Asian noodle dishes, Chinese beer and cocktails.chung-ying-restaurant-birmingham-james-wong-mini

The new Chung Ying Central will offer the local business crowd fast and fresh noodles and dim sum at lunchtime, to either dine in or as an express takeaway.

There will also be a decadent cake offering at breakfast and, to make the most of their authentic cooking kudos, an a la carte menu in the evenings.

The new cocktail bar will also serve popular cocktails, Orient-inspired blends and Chinese beer.

Owner James Wong (pictured above) said:

"I am so excited that we finally get to bring a slice of China Town to the Colmore Row Business District. Our Dim Sum express menu is coming to the city and we will be cooking up a storm ‘Chung Ying Style' for all those busy workers in the area."

2013 has been a good year for Chung Ying. They started off as winner of the Best Chinese Restaurant in the Midlands at the prestigious Tsingtao Legacy of Taste awards.

The team took part in the International Food Festival in Victoria Square, and created a spoof of Psy's viral hit Gangnam Style, and called it Dim Sum Style.

Here is that gem…
