Bottega Prosecco Bar is the concept created by the Italian winery and distillery Bottega to enhance and share good wine, genuine food and convivial Italian lifestyle, all over the world and in different contexts, from airports to resorts and shopping centres.
The collaboration of sommeliers, chefs, architects and designers has shaped this idea, creating a welcoming and elegant yet relaxed environment, where guests can enjoy a glass of Prosecco or another wine from the Bottega selection, paired with "cicchetti", typical appetizers of the Venetian "bacaro", or accompanied with simple dishes, made with genuine ingredients of Mediterranean cuisine.
This restaurant will be launched in collaboration with Charlie’s, a Birmingham-based food operator. Sandro Bottega, owner and Managing Director at Bottega, comments: “We are delighted to collaborate with Charlie’s on this project, which consistently reflects the original concept of Bottega Prosecco Bar, while pleasing the British consumers’ appetite for Prosecco and Italian food. We are grateful to Charlie’s for having interpreted our concept of quality, genuineness and service in the best possible way, and to Arena Birmingham for believing in the project and supporting its development.”
Claudia Gambin, Prosecco Bar Global Business Development Manager at Bottega, adds: “Bottega Prosecco Bars are new and unique experiences that convey an Italian touch and can spread the ritual of wine drinking to global locations. We advocate the importance of a healthy lifestyle, based on varied and simple food, which is inherent in the Mediterranean diet. We also believe in the pairing of food and drink, which is why we have created our own combinations: these are our “Perfect Matches”, fresh and natural recipes made using high quality food of Italian provenance, and paired with the most suitable wines from the wide Bottega range”.
Evelyn Armstrong, Founder at Charlie’s, says: “Originally intended as airport bars, Bottega Prosecco Bars can be adapted to any environment, such as city centres, high street and evening consumers sites. It will attract professionals working in the offices nearby, event goers and families visiting the attractions in this area, and people living within walking distance from Arena Birmingham. We expect this venue to be and exciting new addition to Birmingham’s improving nightlife scene and a high volume site ‒ especially on event days.”
Alan Goodman, General Manager at Arena Birmingham, comments: “We are really pleased to have been able to work with Bottega to deliver a fresh and exciting canal side dining experience on the Arena boardwalk. Partnering with established brands like Bottega to offer new food and beverage options ensures we provide the best possible customer experience to the 700,000 people who walk through our doors every year.”
