Birmingham is a beautiful treasure trove of culinary delights, but few things can compare to the juicy perfection of a perfectly cooked steak. That sizzle, the aroma that fills the air, that first mouthwatering bite. Whether you’re a long-time steak aficionado or a meaty first timer keen to find your perfect cut, the Birmingham food scene has got you covered.
Let us take you on a delectable journey through the sanctuaries for meat enthusiasts everywhere.

We start with Birmingham’s newest meaty offering, En Steak. An independent, family run steakhouse located in the heart of the Mailbox complex, overlooking the canal.
From the charcoal ovens to the cherry wood, dry aging cabinets, they promise to satisfy your every steak craving. Their menu includes a wide range of incredible cuts from locally sourced Hereford beef, highly prized Japanese Kobe beef and everything in between. There’s something for every steak fan.
You can grab a Sunday roast En Steak style too. Lots of meat with all the trimmings. They also have a range of chicken, fish, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free choices if steak isn’t your thing. Their handmade chocolates are exceptional.
It’s not just going out for dinner – it’s a dining experience.

Rustic, colourful, authentic. That’s what you’re in for when you dine at Fiesta Del Asado. With restaurants in Edgbaston and Solihull, their ethically farmed meat will have you dining like the original Argentine cowboys, on steaks such as chateaubriand, tomahawks and flat irons. The steaks at Fiesta Del Asado are all brushed with their special house baste and served with potato terrine and picante chimichurri.
They even have several steak options if you’re dining with them for a Sunday roast including confit short rib of beef, a flavoursome 280g sirloin, fillets, ribeye and a 1kg porterhouse on the bone. All that meat served with popover pudding (yorkies to us Brummies), roasters and veg.
Tasty tip – If you sign up to their El Barrio privilege card (El Barrio means neighbourhood in Argentinian) you’ll receive member only offers such as saving money every time you dine and earning credit to spend or donate to charity.
Hidden in Birmingham Hilton Metropole hotel, overlooking the water, you’ll find a swanky restaurant and bar. Brightsmith on the Water’s mission is to capture the attention to detail of the artisan makers in Birmingham’s world-renowned Jewellery Quarter with their food and drink offering. They use local produce and quality ingredients. Their main menu boasts several steak options such as rib eye and fillet Casterbridge beef steaks which are aged for 21 days and moulded in Himalayan rock salt, cote de boeuf sharing dish, which is carved at your table, and their flat iron steak.
All of their steaks are served with grilled vine tomatoes, portobello mushrooms and triple cooked rosemary garlic chips. You can also choose between peppercorn, mushroom or bearnaise sauce.
The cocktail list is one to work your way through and I highly recommend you try their cherry wood smoked old fashioned, which is delivered to you in a bell jar full of the most delicious orange oil and cherry wood scented smoke.
Another Argentinian offering is Gaucho, home to sophisticated interiors, accessible luxury and premium steaks, just a stone’s throw from Cathedral Square in Birmingham’s City Centre. Grab a rump steak, marinated in garlic, parsley and olive oil in Gaucho’s set lunch menu or the delicately marbled ribeye in their signature menu. All of their steaks are served with chips or seasonal salad.
The feast menu at Gaucho is their most luxurious choice, offering four courses and includes steak options of Tira De Ancho rib eye and Lomo fillet. Paired with something off their extensive wine list, and you’re on to a winner.

You’ll be doing the planet a favour by dining here too as they offset their beef’s carbon footprint through reforestation programmes, reduce emissions and will plant a sapling on your behalf if you add this to your menu.

If you’re very particular about your steak, head to Bar + Block, where you can enjoy it just the way you like it, including the perfect size, how it’s cooked and even chose the weight of the meat. Then all you need to decide on is which sauce, how many sides (truffle flavoured mac and cheese anyone?) and whether to add some surf to your turf.
Want to share? Bar + Block have a new steak sharing experience, offering two 30 day matured speciality cuts or chateaubriand and a bottle of wine, plus all the accompanying sides you might need.
And, if you love their Block steak sauce, you can even take a bottle home with you.
Raise the steaks and enjoy!

Housing the largest glass fronted dry aging fridge of any restaurant in the UK, Pasture is fast becoming the 'go to' for steak lovers in the city. With restaurants in Bristol and Cardiff already, Pasture Birmingham is their largest venture to date seating 45 at the bar and 180 covers in the main restaurant.
All steaks are dry aged for a minimum of 35 days and cooked over charcoal, with a wide selection of cuts including Rump, Fillet, Sirloin, Ribeye and Cote De Boeuf. What they are best known for however is their signature house cuts. House cuts are for two to share and cut fresh every day. They include Chateaubriand, Tomahawk and Porterhouse, and come served with two sides and two sauces.
For none steak lovers there's also lamb chops, steak and ale pie, moussaka and market fish.
