Rude Food Fiesta ends summer of food with a bang (and a blush)

Birmingham's summer calendar of food fairs and festivals drew to a close this weekend with a saucy departure from the norm...

The Rude Food Fiesta was conceived and produced by the ladies at Companis UK, who describe themselves as ‘Food Provocateurs'. It was half experiential art, half homegrown food fair, and 100% naughty humour.

The entrance to Edible Eastside, the allotments where the fiesta took place, did something to set the tone of the evening:

Guests were ushered hither and thither by the stentorian Vicky Roden, listed on the programme as the official ‘Motherpucker' for the event:

There was talk of a ‘Master Baker', while pasta classes running throughout the evening resulted in creations of pink dough with suggestively placed dollops of cream cheese.

Street food, now inevitable of course, was provided by local vendors including Albert Smith (Ubuntu Bread), Pop Up Dosa and Bearwood Pantry:

A range of gasp-inducingly-named drinks were served up by Amy Seton, aka The Whisky Miss, founder of The Birmingham Whisky Club:
