4 June 2014

The Nationwide Catering Association (NCASS) has joined Birmingham Independent Food Fair as Street Food Partner, as the event shapes up to feature a host of outdoor traders serving a variety of food and drink.

NCASS will lend support and advice to the event's outdoor Street Food section, drawing on its 27 years of experience working with mobile caterers.

The fair takes place at Millennium Point on 13 September 2014, and will feature a range of street food vendors serving up food outdoors to try and buy. Cuisines on offer will include authentic wood-fired pizza, Thai curries and Polish cuisine, among others.

The association will also host a free workshop for aspiring and newly-fledged street food businesses - Street Food: The Road to Success.

Usually delivered for a fee of £150 per attendee, a limited number of places on this free course will be available when booking a ticket to Birmingham Independent Food Fair, at a nominal booking fee of £2.50.

Bob Fox, Managing Director at NCASS, said:

"The UK street food industry has taken off astronomically over the past few years. Birmingham and the Midlands are enjoying a strong showing from many high-quality traders operating at markets and events like the Digbeth Dining Club."

"We are a trade association dedicated to providing caterers with the information, systems and support to be safe, legal and profitable. We look forward to the range of established and new street food traders at Birmingham Independent Food Fair."
