Sabai Sabai

Thai-riffic news that this independent family owned business has opened their 5th restaurant in Solihull on Station Road. Signature dishes include Beef Short Rib in a Massaman and Jumbo Black Tiger Prawns char-grilled and topped with a delicious creamy Tom Yam sauce with diced young coconut meat. The menu features favourites such as mouth-watering curries, a selection of salads, wok fries and the popular Pad Thai.

We enjoyed the Bottomless Brunch which had the best tasting choice of dishes - from crispy Thai spring rolls filled with a delightful mixture of vegetables and spices, to crispy calamari and tantalising chicken wings.

Once our appetite was thoroughly whetted, we savoured the main courses of traditional Thai green curry, the aromatic spices of Massaman curry, and the fragrant Pad Thai. Perfect with endless lychee martinis!

Emporio Artari

If you're looking for a good place to eat pizza and pasta, Artari is the place for you. It's got excellent value for money, a great atmosphere, and service, as well as an extensive menu of food choices that'll keep everyone happy.

They also have an early dinner menu for cinema goers – two courses and a glass of wine for £20. Owned by an Italian family, the menu offers definitive Italian cuisine. It’s also a great place to meet a celebrity! TV Chef Aldo Zilli is their brand ambassador and visits every month.

Alioli

Say hola to this Spanish restaurant and tapas bar, inspired by the gypsy culture of Andalusia, serving food that sparks passion and artistic energy.

The menu features a range of small plates including chorizo with onion jam or chicken croquettes with honey mustard mayo; there's also paella on offer as well as meatballs with tomato sauce for those who want something heartier. They have a great Sangria and Spanish wine selection too.

Fiesta Del Asado

If you're looking for a great Argentinian steak restaurant in the Solihull area, Fiesta del Asado is the place to go. The décor and atmosphere is stunning, with very friendly and attentive staff too. It may be known for great steaks and fine wine but the lamb cutlets and Duroc pork belly are to die for too.  If you can’t decide, try the Gauchos Feast, a juicy selection of flat iron steak, grilled lamb cutlets, chicken wings, pork belly, butifarra, morcilla, and chistorra pork sausage, served with a potato terrine and Picante chimichurri.

We would highly recommend this restaurant for a high energy night out!

SKVP

SKVP on Shirley High Street is an Indian vegetarian/vegan restaurant that offers a variety of tasty Indian street food snacks. The food here is spicy and delicious with dishes such as Vada Pav (a bargain at five for £10) - Vada is made of a spicy potato filling deep fried in a gram flour batter and is served in a bap with 3 chutneys and fried green chilli. It’s so yummy.

Our favourite is the Pau Bhaji, mashed vegetables in a masala sauce served with hot buttered baps. The prices are excellent value for money too - you can eat here for under £10 per person – enjoy paneer makhanwala, dhal makhani, and many more Mumbai favourites.

The Boat Catherine de Barnes

The picturesque The Boat pub has been popular with locals since it opened in 2009, It’s a mix of upmarket cosy casual is perfect for family gatherings and Sunday lounging.

The food is simple but delicious: think roasts with all the trimmings (including Yorkshire puddings), pies filled with local game and fish, hearty stews, and casseroles made from seasonal ingredients - plus lots more besides! There are plenty of vegetarian options too; and they have an extensive gluten-free menu.
There’s an impressive beer garden too, so you should definitely pre-book when the sun is out.

Tap & Tandoor

Tap & Tandoor is a great place for Friday night curry and have a beer. A cosy pub vibes and great tasting Indian menu - in fact it's great any day of the week! Idel choice for the whole family.

Cote Brasserie

Cote Brasserie is a great place for a family dinner. The French approach to eating well is rooted in the concept of “terroir” – showing respect for the earth and the things it gives us. They only work with farmers and producers who share this mindset, ensuring they can offer you the best-tasting seasonal produce.

We have always enjoyed the Cote Classics, such as Poulet Breton Gratin - corn-fed marinated half chicken. baked in a creamy roasted chicken sauce with chestnut mushrooms, Chantenay carrots & French beans, served with frites. C'est fantastique!

Turtle Bay

Turtle Bay is a Caribbean-inspired restaurant that is a sure-fit hit in Solihull.

They've just introduced Reggae Roasts - Caribbean inspired roast dinners by Chef Collin who really wanted to bring a roast dinner - Caribbean style - to the Turtle Bay menu. There's just something about getting together with loved ones and sharing laughs over big plates of comforting food. Whether it's a family pot roast in Jamaica or a roast dinner here in the UK, it's something that brings us all joy and connects us - a feeling you almost can't put into words. Can't wait to try it and see how they have fused rich and fresh flavours from the islands with all your favourite trimmings!

How does 10-20 per person and under £50 per head for a meal for two people in the restaurant sounds? You can get an entree, main course, and dessert for around that price range if you're ordering off the menu.

What to order? The Jerk chicken wings are delicious but if you like spicy food then go for their Hot Chicken Wings instead! If you want something more than just chicken then try their Curry Goat or Oxtail Stew (both served with rice). There are also plenty of vegetarian options available too including Veggie Patties which come with salad greens and coleslaw as well as other sides like sweet potato fries or fried plantain chips with dip sauces like mango chutney or jerk mayo sauce.

Slug & Lettuce

If you're looking for a place to go with friends or family, Slug & Lettuce is the best spot in Solihull. The food is good and there are plenty of options for everyone. They have amazing cocktails too!

The food here is excellent quality - we'd recommend ordering some pork belly as it melts in your mouth!
