Best Birmingham Pubs to Visit on St Patrick's Day
While the St Paddy’s Day parade might be cancelled again this year, there's no reason you shouldn't be celebrating Irish style.
With the luck of the Irish, we’re bringing you an incredible selection of pubs so you don’t have to miss out on the festivities. All that’s left is for you to don your green outfits for the 17th March!
The Rainbow Pub – Digbeth
A traditional Victorian-style pub with some modern touches, the Rainbow Pub features a long dark wood bar, high ceilings, large stained-glass windows and ultra comfy seating. It’s fitted with two big-screen TVs for your entertainment while you sip on something from their wide range of premium spirits, beers and ciders and cocktails. Not only that, but the Rainbow Pub serves great food and hosts live music too.
The Rainbow will be celebrating St Paddy’s up until the 20th March with live music, Irish food specials from Ba-Ha, Irish cocktails and a whole lot of craic!
The Canal House – Brindley Place
Relax by the canal at the Canal House, winner of West Midlands Pub/Bar of the year in 2019. Celebrate the best way, with live music, pub classics, roasts and ales. Why not indulge in one of their Irish Coffees infused with Jameson? Perfect for the occasion.
With the weather finally starting to improve slightly – spring, is that you? – you might even be able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view over the canal. (With coats on, of course. We’re not that optimistic.)
Tap & Spile Birmingham
Another canalside gem, this old but gold pub is situated in the Gas Street Canal Basin. Built in 1821, you can soak up a bit of history alongside your pint!
Tap and Spile recommend you try a Jameson, ginger and lime - it's refreshing and perfect for infusing a little Irish charm into your day. They’re also putting on a special offer of four shots of Baby Guinness for only £8. Don’t mind if we do!
BrewDog Birmingham
If you fancy delicious food with quality drinks, this is a great option. Known for their epic food and awesome craft beers from around the world, BrewDog is a great choice for the whole family, being child-friendly until 9pm. Their beers are brewed using the finest malted barley and hops from the best producers around the world.
They’re celebrating St Paddy’s day by showcasing four of their favourite Irish breweries, pouring a range of beers from Whiplash and DOT Brew, straight out of Dublin, alongside a selection from Belfast’s Bullhouse Brew Co and Boundary Brewing. From IPAs and Pales to Sours and Stouts, there’s something for everyone.
The Button Factory – Jewellery Quarter
The Jewellery Quarter's hippest hang out. From brunch, lunch, dinner and into the earlier hours, The Button Factory is the place to be. Whether you’re celebrating with bottomless brunch, a hearty lunch or after-work drinks, there’ll be something to suit your taste at this trendy renovated Victorian factory.
It even has a pretty cool rooftop terrace – complete with heaters, so you can sip your drink in the fresh air without getting too chilly.
The Covered Wagon – Moseley
‘A home away from home’, The Covered Wagon is a multi award winning pub that specialises in serving fresh, homemade Indian cuisine, with a wide selection of beers on tap as well as plenty of bottles in the fridges.
The true definition of a friendly neighbourhood pub. You really can’t go wrong here!
