Chung Ying

One of the city’s most popular spots for Chinese cuisine, Chung Ying is opposite the Arcadian and the near the Hippodrome theatre, making it the perfect place to start your day with friendly staff and very generous portions. They are also one of the few Chinese restaurants to offer full vegan and gluten free menus.
Chung Ying is best known for their amazing Dim Sum which has recently been nominated at The Golden Chopsticks Awards for best Dim Sum. Their menu also has a large variety of great dishes for you to dine in or takeaway.
Vietnamese Street Kitchen

This independent restaurant has a flagship site in Bullring and one in Resorts World. Enjoy a big bowl of pho, steamed dumplings, crispy prawn rolls, cats curry and much more.
Henry Wong

Having stayed the course for the last 35 years, Henry Wong in Harborne boasts a delicious reputation within the area’s foodie scene as an unmissable fine dining treat. With a signature menu and a regular menu, there is so much to work your way through. Having just introduced new Executive Chef Tuck Weng Lee the quality of food has certainly be elevated.
The signature dim sum platter for two people includes wasabi prawns, crispy won tons, pork dumplings, satay chicken and seaweed. Or go for half an aromatic duck with pancakes. Along with signature mains such as king prawns in garlic butter and laziji Sichuan spicy pepper lamb, there are also main menus full of seafood, poultry, meat and vegetarian dishes to choose from, as well as several set menus. No one will leave hungry.
Lulu Wild

Spectacularly sexy interiors, and a vibrant atmosphere will greet you as you enter Lulu Wild. The á la Carte menu includes traditional dim sum and classic Chinese favourites with ingenious twists. The honey pork main is a taste sensation with black vinegar and sesame and you can taste every one of the 24 hours it took to marinate the black truffle roast duck with truffle sauce and shimeji mushrooms. Just perfection.
If you have a sweet tooth… and you have room… the imperial garden dessert with matcha and passionfruit sponge, lime infused vanilla crumble, honey and raspberry compote and sorbet would be the perfect, fruity end to your meal.

Tattu

TATTU is one of the trendiest modern Chinese restaurants in Birmingham, it has been so for a few years and it is clear to see why: with elegant decor, an intricate menu, and a modern take on traditional Chinese flavours, it ticks all the boxes of a perfect dinner. And from the 9th February, their celebration of Chinese New Year begins.
To celebrate the Year of the Dragon, TATTU have created a series of limited dishes for the occasion that intend to symbolise good luck, strength and health. Alongside the new dishes they will also introduce a special cocktail called “Dragon’s Breath”. On the 24th February, their festivities will close with a Lantern Festival with Chinese Lion Dancers.
Ming Moon
If you need your Chinese food with a side of karaoke, and let’s face it, who doesn’t?!, you’ll need to get yourself over to Ming Moon. It is one of the city’s biggest Chinese all you can eat restaurants, with live cooking kitchens and a huge list of Pan Asian dishes to chose from.
For starters you could be scoffing their chicken yuk sung, deep fried fish fillet, crab claws or seaweed. Their mains include the Ming Moon house special king prawns, shredded pork with aubergine, braised beef brisket and mussels in cream sauce.
And you must leave room for Ming Moon’s famous chocolate fountain!
With their well-known warm and welcoming atmosphere, contemporary design and comfortable layout, Ming Moon is the perfect destination for any sized group. They have Halal, vegan and gluten free menus too.
Ken Ho
At Ken Ho, the welcome is amazing and the service is friendly. The Chef’s recommended list includes pi pa tofu and stir-fried minced prawns, go for their sizzling halibut loin pot on the specials list or if you’re more into the street food vibe you could eat your way through some wonton in chili oil, radish and fish ball in satay or chicken feet.
Oh, and the dim sum is a must try at Ken Ho.
End your meal on a tasty high with the glutinous rice rolls with almond soup or the mango pomelo sago.
